Abstract

Sexuality is present in every stage of life and all human beings have the right to receive sexual education, regardless of physical or mental condition; however, students with intellectual disabilities have limited access to this information due to their parents' fear of arousing their curiosity and that they may not understand the aspects related to this matter. Therefore, the objective of this work is to identify the knowledge and attitudes that students with intellectual disabilities have regarding sexuality. The diagnosis was made during the COVID-19 pandemic; The instruments on study conditions, learning styles and sexuality were applied to students from the Training and Special Education Center of Poza Rica, Veracruz, of the Veracruzana University (CEEEPoR UV). The results were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, showing their way of learning, the type of study conditions, the lack of information, nervousness and insecurity that they manifest about their sexuality. In conclusion, to achieve their learning on sexuality, it is necessary to rethink intervention strategies according to their characteristics and assert their rights.
