The objective is to show the potential of tourist routes and itineraries, in the context of contemporary tourism development, assess the interrelation between heritage values and the design of these products, as well as expose the fundamental elements for their creation. The applied review of sources allows the author to expose the significance of tourist routes as a fundamental link, to establish and consolidate a destination that constitutes a resource to manage tourist activity and with-it local development in a sustainable manner in harmony with the content of the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations.
