Abstract

This article answers the question: What is the current state and trends of research published between 2021 and 2025 on the impact of the research community as a method in the development of critical thinking in Bolivian university students? Objective: Provide a detailed overview of the current state and trends on the impact of the research community as a method in the development of critical thinking in Bolivian university students. Method: Databases such as SciELO, Redalyc and the Google Scholar search engine were reviewed, following the PRISMA 2022 guidelines. 797 articles were identified, of which six were selected that met the inclusion criteria of being reviewed and published, in Spanish or English, and being focused on the topic. Results: The findings identify articles on the origin and objective of the research community, its methodological elements, and its use as a method, technique and strategy to develop critical thinking. Conclusion: The 2021-2025 systematic review confirms that the research community is a highly effective method that promotes university critical thinking, improving logical argumentation and evaluative judgment. Despite its international success, a crucial knowledge gap is identified in Bolivia.
