Abstract

This article is the result of the master's research entitled Teaching Visual Arts with Cinema: critical-reflective experiences in High School (2020). The objective was to develop new methodological approaches – in Visual Arts classes – that would expand the critical-reflexive training of high school students. The research site was the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão (IFMA) – Campus São Luís/Monte Castelo. The research subjects were 117 students from 2019 to 2020. In this way, live and remote short films were produced and, finally, six remote short films were hosted on YouTube. The methodological approach was action research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. A bibliographic survey, participant observation, diagnostic surveys, semi-structured questionnaires about the experiences were carried out, in addition to the use of WhatsApp and Google Meet. Based on this, data analysis and interpretation were carried out, involving the systematization of the information obtained. In this perspective, the use of these new methodological approaches in the Teaching of Visual Arts with cinema is defended through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as a way of educating through research, since the development of methodological approaches in classes of Visual Arts with cinema contributed to the speech space of the students with exercises of alterity, favoring critical-reflective experiences of artistic production in High School.
