Abstract

The subject Nursing Process of the Nursing career of the University of Playa Ancha has a Clinical Skills laboratory where simulation activities are carried out. The career management requested to optimize its use, considering that it was being underused, affecting the teaching - learning process. Objective: To implement a teaching induction manual for the Clinical Skills Laboratory, which uses the simulation strategy, in the subject Nursing Process of the Nursing career of the University of Playa Ancha. Method: Action research. Under the perspective of action research and teaching innovation, it was proposed to elaborate an induction manual, whose guiding question was How to design an induction manual for teachers of the subject Nursing Process that optimizes the use of the Clinical Skills Laboratory and strengthens the teaching-learning process of the Nursing career of the University of Playa Ancha? Results: Diagnostic survey of teachers of the subject revealed that most were unaware of the infrastructure and organization of the Clinical Skills Laboratory, giving importance to active-participatory strategies and activity planning, but not to teamwork. Conclusion: An induction manual was developed, cohesive and renewing existing documents, agreeing on a standardized language for the execution of participatory strategies.  The proposed manual was submitted to validation, obtaining a product that aims to optimize the use of the skills laboratory and strengthen the teaching-learning process.
