Abstract

This article presents the results of a Teaching Innovation Project in the context of the Master´s Degree in Teaching for Higher Education at the Andrés Bello University, developed at the Colmenat Training Institute in La Serena, Chile.  The objective is to etrengthen the use of ICT by music education teachers in the field of their subject. To achieve this, practical training workshops were implemented with a targeted sample of 12 teachers, to whom an initial questionnaire was applied that evidenced a lack in the acquisition of digital tools in their pedagogical practice in the subject. In response, the implementation of specific workshops on ICT linked to the teaching of music education was proposed, with tools such as Windows Live, Movie Maker and Sundance for the creation of musical videos and games, as well as the Garageband and Usal-media platform in Youtube. After the training, the teachers evidenced an improvement in the knowledge and use of the aforementioned ICT and its application to the subject, as well as high satisfaction regarding its contribution to generating a better learning environment and promoting brain-friendly evaluations.
