Abstract

The article socializes the results of a project carried out in the field of health. Its main objective was to strengthen socio-emotional competencies in the development of clinical simulation of the subject of Emergency Nursing in the students of the Nursing career at the University of Playa Ancha, Independencia campus. This mixed method study was developed with 44 nursing students where clinical simulation workshops were implemented to enhance socio-emotional skills. For this purpose, the development of a system of rubrics was proposed to evaluate the process and the results of the projects. In addition to the application of a satisfaction questionnaire applied to the students. The use of research made it possible to obtain information and generate own knowledge, necessary to make decisions and solve practical problems. The data analysis considered two stages: the first, before the socio-emotional skills workshop and the second, after the intervention, to work on soft skills in the subject. The results show a significant decrease in anxiety, an increase in competence, as well as skills for stress management and the generation of a positive mood in terms of socio-emotional competences.
