Psychopedagogical intervention for the development of verbal language in children with Autism

Psychopedagogical intervention plays an important role in the development of verbal language in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This neurodevelopmental disorder affects communication, social interaction, behavior and verbal language development, one of the central characteristics of this disorder, making early, timely and specialized psychoeducational intervention crucial to improve linguistic skills and quality of life of children with autism. Therefore, “Evaluating the effectiveness of a specific psychopedagogical intervention implemented in an early education center to improve the development of verbal language in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Portoviejo, province of Manabí, Ecuador is the basis on which based this research, plus the review of theoretical foundations, analysis, deduction, abstraction and synthesis that allowed analyzing the different contributions of authors regarding the research topic. The results made it clear that Psychopedagogical intervention in our country is carried out by related specialists, such as Psychologists or language therapists, in addition to there being little multidisciplinary work among the actors in the educational process, which is necessary to modify to have more effective results.
