Abstract

The present innovation project raises the situation that derived from the investigation on the diagnostic evaluation instruments of entry to higher education TP, where the lack of tools that allowed evaluating the entry skills of students was detected. Due to the situation, the development of the innovation proposal was considered, which consisted of redesigning an assessment center (AC), an instrument that is used in companies to measure competencies in the selection of people for some business positions., adapting it to a format that would fit the educational field. After adapting the AC  instrument to higher education, it was applied to first-year students of professional technical higher education. In said implementation, it was evidenced that in none of the competencies observed did it have more than 50% development, which allows the higher education institution to visualize action plans that favor the progression of students.
